Tokyo Disneyland is a 115-acre theme park located at Tokyo Disney Resort in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. Disneyland is said to be "the happiest place on Earth." Why? Simply because they turn our childhood dreams into reality by giving lives to our favorite Fairy tales and Disney characters.
The park has seven themed areas and that includes Adventureland, Westernland, Critter Country, Mickey's Toontown, Tomorrowland, World Bazaar, and Fantasy Land. There are certainly plenty of amazing and exciting things you can do when at Tokyo Disneyland. Here's my list of top things you should not miss when visiting Tokyo Disneyland.

1. Meet and greet with Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters
Mickey Mouse is one of the most famous characters created by Walt Disney. Because of that, many children love to meet him and Tokyo Disneyland made it possible. Life-sized mascots are all over the place to make children happy. Aside from Mickey Mouse, there are other Disney characters that you can meet there like Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Tinker Bell. Snow White, and many more.
2. Experience the thrilling rides
Of course, it will be more unforgettable if you try the many rides and attractions inside Tokyo Disneyland. Enjoy and feel like a kid again as you experience the fun of taking those rides. There are lots of rides that you can choose from. They have rides that are kid-friendly, and there are also rides for people who like extreme experience.

3. Watch "Happiness is Here" parade
''Happiness is Here'' is a parade of your favorite Disney characters. Watch them dancing and performing skits to entertain the guests. Aside from mascots, there are also huge and colorful floats in the parade. This is one of the several parades and shows happening during the day that you should not miss.
4. Have selfie at the Cinderella castle and at many Instagram-worthy spots inside Tokyo Disneyland
We all once dreamt to be a princess or a prince someday. At Tokyo Disneyland, you can be a prince or princess at least once in your lifetime by taking a picture at the castle of Cinderella. Aside from that, make your feed magical by taking selfies at other attractions offered at the theme park. You can even catch some of the Disney Princes and Princesses in different parts of the park - and you can also selfies with them too! Make sure you have enough space on your phone or camera because they have lots of Instagram-worthy spots that you can choose from.
5. Enjoy the food
Aside from the rides and attractions, Tokyo Disneyland also offers themed restaurants and cafes inside the park. Enjoy trying out different cuisines with your family and friends as they have plenty of restaurants that you can try. And also, do not forget to have a bite on the iconic Mickey Mouse ice cream bar. In fact, Disney World sells 2.5 million ice cream bars each year!
6. Shopping
Do you love Disney-themed merchandise? Make sure you have enough pocket money with you because your visit to Tokyo Disneyland is not complete without souvenirs! They have over 30 shops inside the park and most of them are Disney-themed shops. If you have a kid with you, I am sure they will love collecting Disney items from the park.
7. Watch live performances
There are plenty of live performances at the park like Fantasmic, Fashionable Easter, Happiest Celebration on the Sea, Big Band Beat, Out of Shadowland and many more. You and your loved ones will have a great bonding experience while watching different live performances.
8. Watch the electrical parade dreamlights
One of the highlights in Tokyo Disneyland is the Electrical Parade Dreamlights. Just like the Happiness is Here parade, it also a parade of Disney characters and floats. The only difference is that Electrical Parade Dreamlights is held during the night. The mascots and floats are illuminated with bright and colorful lights which makes the parade magical and a feast to the eyes.
9. Be Amazed by the projection show at the castle
Watching the projection show at the castle is another one thing that you should never miss out when in Tokyo Disneyland. It is a 20-minute show held at night where there is a projection of vibrant lights covering the whole castle. The projection includes short stories of different Disney characters and other fascinating patterns of lights.
10. Fireworks at the castle
Enjoy watching the 15-minutes grand fireworks display at the castle with your loved ones. Experience different kind of happiness as you witness the stunning fireworks for you to have unforgettable memories in Tokyo Disneyland.
Unfortunately, due to strong winds, the nightly fireworks display at the castle was cancelled during our visit.

How to get to Tokyo Disneyland?
BY TRAIN
Tokyo Disneyland as well as Tokyo DisneySea are accessible from Maihama Station. Tokyo Disneyland is a short leisurely walk from Maihama Station. Tokyo DisneySea is located in Tokyo DisneySea Station, a train away from Maihama Station. You may also opt to walk to the park from Maihama Station, which takes about 20 minutes.

BY BUS
Although Japan's railway system is convenient and efficient; alternatively, you can also travel to Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea with ease via shared bus transfers from multiple departure points in Shinjuku. This is ideal if you are traveling with kids or senior citizens so you won't need to transfer from one train to another. Tokyo Disneyland Tipid Travel Tips
- You can purchase your entrance ticket upon arrival at Tokyo Disneyland. But I highly suggest that you book your tickets online in advance to avoid the long queues at the ticket booths, especially during peak days. I recommend that book your tickets online via Klook.com! - Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea tickets are available in 1-Day or 2-Day passes. The passes are considered open tickets, you may enter the park on any day before the expiration date written on the pass.
- Print your tickets/vouchers and just show it at the gate to enter Tokyo Disneyland. Enter the park fast and hassle-free!
- Opening hours is from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. To maximize your time, it is highly suggested that you go there 30 minutes to an hour before the park's opening time. Avoid weekends and holidays. The park may be overly crowded during weekends and holidays.
- One way to skip the regular lines of the attractions is using a Fast Pass Ticket. This system will allow you to maximize your time by minimizing your time at the waiting line. To get a Fast Past ticket, you just have to go to the FASTPASS ticketing machines near the entrance of the FASTPASS attraction you want to ride and get a Fast Pass ticket with the designated time period printed on it. Once the designated period starts, return to the attraction and enter through the FASTPASS entrance.
- You can bring water bottle inside. There are many water fountain where you could fill your bottle with drinking water. You can also bring some light snacks, just put it inside your bag. These will save you a lot on expenses.
- Plan your itinerary ahead of time by checking the park map. It's a huge park, and it's really impossible to experience all the rides and attractions in just one day. So, it's better to plan your trip in advance and prioritize which attraction or ride you want to do first.
- If you're traveling with a luggage, you can leave it at the lockers, either at the train station or at Tokyo Disneyland.
- Always check the weather for you to know what should you wear. It could be too cold and windy during winter, and hot during summer. And don't forget to wear comfortable pair of shoes because you will be walking a lot.
