Asia United Bank introduces WeChat Pay in the Philippines via AUB PayMate

As a frequent traveler, I always seek for comfort and convenience whenever I travel here and abroad. The ongoing trend which I am quite sure will become more and more popular in the Philippines is enjoying e-payments - whether paying for your bills, shopping in malls, dining in restaurants or when booking for your flights and hotel accommodations. I can see in the future that more and more people will start using mobile pay apps like WeChat Pay which is largely popular in Mainland Chinese stores and services.

Asia United Bank introduces WeChat Pay in the Philippines via AUB PayMate

In the Philippines, Asia United Bank (AUB) launched the AUB PayMate App last December 2017. The AUB PayMate App is a platform that allows PH merchants to accept WeChat Pay transactions. This will mean more markets for the merchants as it will cater a big segment of tourists visiting our country like the Chinese tourists that uses WeChat Pay as their mode of payments. As a matter of fact, the Department of Tourism projects that Chinese tourists visiting the Philippines will reach 1.5 million starting 2018. This huge segment of international travelers are definitely a substantial market that produces sales revenue whenever they travel to the different parts of the country.

With the introduction of AUB PayMate, merchant partners can instantly process WeChat Pay transactions from Chinese customers. And if an establishment uses WeChat Pay, Chinese tourists will be thrilled and delighted to know that this payment service is used and accepted in the Philippines which are both familiar and native to them.

Mobile phones have become an important part of our lives as we use it to communicate, to interact with our friends in our social media accounts, use different apps, and take precious travels photos. This new mobile cashiering tool offered by AUB will allow merchants to conveniently and seamlessly process WeChat Pay from Chinese tourists. How cool is that?! For the Chinese tourist, the convenience of WeChat Pay makes traveling more fun and easy. In this digital age, having a mobile wallet and knowing that more establishments are accepting mobile payments, travelers need not to bring too much cash and just enjoy fast, secure, convenient way of using mobile payment apps.

I hope to see more and more establishments using the AUB PayMate App in their transactions. As a traveler, there is nothing better than to enjoy the ease and convenience of mobile payments anywhere I go.
