Whenever I travel, I always like to try new things and new experiences. In the Philippines, I've already tried many exciting activities. I always think that I should enjoy every travel moments that I have. Baka kasi this is last time na makaka-visit ako sa lugar na ito, so I have to make the best of it. Be it riding a zip line, island hopping, camping, surfing, spelunking, chasing a waterfall, mountaineering or any outdoor activity, I always see to it that I don't miss an adventurous activity in the place I am visiting. But there's one thing that I really want to learn so that I can experience a trip fully - that is to learn how to ride a motorcycle and take it around.
There are many places in our country that I have visited that if only I know how to ride a motorcycle, I could have explored them more while saving a lot on travel expenses. Provinces such as Batanes, Camiguin, Siargao, Bohol, El Nido, and Siquijor that can easily be explored and enjoyed on two wheels. Been to these places severals times and truest me, habal-habal ang magiging best friend mo dito. And it’s really fun going around these places on a habal-habal. Riding a motorcycle gives a totally different experience as you discover the island on your own with a refreshing breeze blowing through your face while you enjoy the breathtaking scenic views. Riding a motorcycle gives you the freedom and flexibility to go wherever you want, explore places near or far at a low cost, to decide your own schedule, and to visit places where the locals go as you convoy with them. Amazing yun diba?
There are things that you can easily do with a motorcycle and that's why I finally decided to learn how to ride one! I promised myself that and this is it! It's actually one of the items in my bucket list that has been long overdue. I have to do it now. Dapat matuto na ako mag-ride ng motorcycle, para sa next trip ko pwede na ako mag-ride on my own.
While looking for a nice two-wheel for a first time rider like me, I happened to pass by a Suzuki Mall Invasion booth at SM Cherry Shaw and I was struck to one of Suzuki’s stylish bikes - Suzuki Skydrive Sport. At the booth, the dealer graciously discussed to me thoroughly about the things I need to know about the Skydrive Sport. Wala akong masyadong alam sa mga motor, so I asked the staff everything I want to know. Mabuti nalang at mabait si kuya, at hindi nakulitan sa dami ng tanong ko. Hehehe!
The Suzuki Skydrive Sport is an ideal scooter for first-time motorcycle owners and even for those who are just starting to learn how to ride one, perfect for casual ride in the city, for road trips with friends, or even just for hanging out with your best buddies. I’m so happy that he answered all my queries and assured me that the Skydrive Sport is super friendly to use and ideal for first time scooter owners.
I believe that it can be a part of my lifestyle. It’s is a must for me to have something easy to ride, affordable, and stylish. Great thing is, the Suzuki Skydrive Sport captures all the features that I am looking for in a motorcycle.
The new Skydrive Sport is an entry-level AT scooter, so it’s really easy to use. What I like about this is it’s not only groomed to be stylish, but it’s also is very affordable at PHP67,900!!! Very affordable diba? More to that, the Suzuki Skydrive Sport is available in three trendy and striking colors: black, pink and matte silver. Its performance is also outstanding because it is fuel injected – I read reviews about it and they say fuel injection is more economical and more environment friendly. Sa panahon ngayon na sobrang mahal ng gasoline, dapat talaga praktikal, makakatipid, at makakatulong sa pag-alaga ng kalikasan. Kudos to that!
I think its technical features are also impressive with 4-stroke single cylinder air-cooled, fuel-injected Single Overhead Camshaft (SOHC) engine that produces 6.7Kw at 8,000 rpm maximum power with 8.5Nm/6000rpm maximum torque. You can read more about it here https://goo.gl/BUubMM.
We went to the parking area of SM Cherry Shaw where they conduct the free test ride. I was welcomed by one of Suzuki's Safety Riding Authority instructors and introduced me to the Suzuki Skydrive Sport. As someone who hasn’t driven a scooter, he explained to me first the different parts of the scooter, where to start the engine, and how to ride it. After that, he then let me manage and adjust the throttle on my own. Medyo nakaka-kaba lang sa umpisa, but since marunong ako mag-bike, madali ko lang natutunan. For my first few laps, I rode the scooter to get a feel of it with the assistance of one of the staff and we went around the short track for a couple of times.
After that, they let me handle it by myself. Yahoo! It is easy as twist and go! For someone like me who is a first-timer in riding a scooter, the Suzuki Skydrive Sport is not complicated at all. It’s so easy to ride and it’s definitely a great choice for anyone wanting to own their first motorcycle. Sobrang dali lang i-ride at perfect talaga siya sa mga gusting matuto mag-ride ng scooter.
In case, you’re also interested to learn how to ride this scooter, Suzuki actually offers “Learn to Ride” sessions as part of their advocacy for safety riding. You can check out these activities on their social media accounts at facebook.com/SuzukiMotorcyclesPhilippines or instagram.com/suzukimotorsph or visit their website at www.suzuki.com.ph/motors for regular updates.
