Looking for resorts and water parks near Metro Manila? Visit Pampanga and have a water-mazing adventure at Aqua Planet Water Park!
Dubbed as the one of the biggest and most modern water parks in Asia, Aqua Planet is located at the heart of Central Luzon inside Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga - just less than 2 hours drive from Metro Manila. It is highly accessible via North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), and Tarlac-Pangasinan,La Union Expressway (TPLEX), whether you're coming from Metro Manila, or its nearby provinces such as Bulacan, Tarlac, Zambales, Bataan, and Nueva Ecija. It is also very near Clark International Airport which serves as the newest gateway to the Philippines for international flights from abroad.
Aqua Planet is not just a destination, but a world-class experience ideal for all-ages. As one of the newest and biggest water parks in the Philippines, it is now the most popular water park north of Metro Manila and is frequented by people wanting to have a water-mazing experience, especially this summer season.
Last week, we had an exciting and fun-filled Aqua Planet adventure. With this, let me share to you our personal experience, travel guide, tips and reminders to help you plan your visit to Aqua Planet Water Park.
Upon arrival at Aqua Planet, we went to the ticketing booths to get our park tickets. The staff will then give you a wrist band that you should wear all the time and a map of the park. The wrist band is registered to you which also serves as your entrance ticket to the gate. You can load it up too for renting a locker, and for buying food and stuff inside the park. It also serves as your exit pass after enjoying the many attractions and rides at the water park.
Vista Cabana
We then went to our rented air-conditioned cabana to settle our things and to change to our swimming attires. Located in many areas around the water park, these cabanas are called Vista Cabana which are spacious, cozy, and modernly-designed in bright colors. It has an air-conditioning unit perfect for the summer season, cabinets, safety deposit box, mini refrigerator, and a comfy sitting area with cushions. I love it!
Renting a Vista Cabana also comes with a set of toiletries, complimentary bottled water, and Aqua Planet merchandise that the kids will surely love. This is ideal for families and group of friends for a day of leisure inside Aqua Planet Water Park.
After changing to our swimming attires, we went to Big Bang which is one of the food kiosks inside the resort to have our lunch. Aqua Planet has several food kiosks scattered around the resort. Surprisingly, food are very affordable! We had Pork Sisig with rice (PHP 120), One-piece Fried Chicken with rice and drink (PHP 180), and Angus Beef Burger with fries and drink (PHP 390). Food are really cheap and serving is huge. For the prices of other food at Big Bang, please see this photo.
We then rested for a while and walked around the resort to familiarize ourselves with the rides and attractions we want to try and experience. Aqua Planet has around 38 slides and attractions. They are grouped into two categories: the Kiddie Zone ideal for kids, and Zone 1 for persons with a height of 4 feet and above. Note that, each ride has its own height and weight requirements before you can try it.
Wave River
First, we tried the wave river which gave us a very relaxing tour around Aqua Planet by cruising through a 412-meter long flowing river while riding an inflatable. We loved it so much that we did it several times. Hahaha!
Octopus Racer
Next, we tried the Octopus Racer which is made of colorful and vibrant slides. The slide starts off with an enclosed loop then straight to a landing base. These beautiful rainbow-colored slides is fun to do with friends as you race your way down to the finish line.
Wave Pool
We then went to the wave pool to rest for a while and enjoy the beach-like pool of Aqua Planet. This huge 3,500 sq meter pool boasts to generate 8-types of gigantic waves is an awesome place to enjoy with your family and friends. The waves run for 15 minutes with a pause in between. I'm quite sure, the kids and senior citizens will surely enjoy this area.
Boogie Bay
Next to the wave pool is Boogie Bay where you can ride the waves on your boogies. Here, you can borrow a Flow Rider Board and enjoy riding the waves of this 1,500-sqm pool.
Tornado
We're saving the best for last. So for the last ride we wanted to try is Aqua Planet's Tornado. This huge slide is definitely one of the highlights, must-try, and most popular rides in Aqua Planet. The ride is filled with twists and turns that will make you feel as if you're inside a tornado. It has a gigantic funnel that will take you to the extremes by riding a quad tube inflatable with three of your friends.
The slide will bring you down on a sudden 45 degree drop and will throw and swing you around multiple times inside the funnel before going out on a water landing 3 feet deep. This is so much fun and definitely one of my favorites!
Other rides and attractions:
Kiddie Zone's Mermaid Bay, Orc Lagoon and Bubble Base
Aqua Loop
Flow Rider
Hurricane
Spiral Slides
Superbowl
Cottage, Cabana, Table Rentals
Aqua Planet offers many table and chairs with umbrella for free. They are located in many areas around the water park and it is on a first come, first serve basis. If you're a group of 10-25 persons, you may opt to rent one of their cabanas. They have different types of cabanas. Prices varies from 3,000 to 9,000 pesos. Each cabana has comfortable cushions, fan or aircon, and safety deposit box to store your valuables.
Beach Cabanas - perfect for 10 to 15 people, they are located front of the Wave Pool and Boogie Bay area. Rate is ₱4,000 per day.
Bubblies Cabanas - priced at ₱3,500 per day, these cabanas can fit 10 to 15 people. They are located in front of the Bubblies Bay Kiddie Area. This is ideal for families with kids spending a lot of time at the kiddie area.
Palmera Cabanas - located near the Octopus Racer, it is priced at ₱5,000 per day and could fit up to 25 people.
Vista Cabanas - this is the one we stayed at which can comfortably fit 10-15 persons. It has an air-condition, a refrigerator, cabinets, safety deposit box, and cozy lounging area. It also comes with a set of toiletries, bottled water, and Aqua Planet merchandise for free! It costs ₱9,000 per day.
Where to leave your valuable items?
If you rent a cabana, it already has a safety deposit box where you could leave your valuable items while you enjoy the water park. If you're using the free tables and chairs, you can leave your things in one of the lockers in their locker area located near the guest services. Each locker is for rent for ₱ 150 pesos per day. They are big enough to hold 2 or 3 medium sized backpacks, or one carry-on luggage.
