As Japan’s biggest western city, Osaka has so much to offer and provides convenient access to its tourist attractions with the city’s well-developed transportation network. That is why, Osaka is one of the top tourist destinations in Japan and a favorite among Filipinos!
When we were planning our recent trip to Osaka, we opted to purchase an Osaka Amazing Pass from Klook - which we planned to use on our 4th and final full day in Osaka. Issued by the Osaka Convention and Tourism Bureau, it is the perfect access ticket for anyone wanting to enjoy the best attractions in Osaka without hurting the budget. It is an access pass that lets you visit or get free access to 40+ of the best tourist destinations and activities in Osaka, such as the Osaka Castle Park, Tsūtenkaku Tower, Umeda Sky Building Floating Garden Observatory, Osaka Science Museum, HEP FIVE Ferries Wheel, Tonbori River Cruise, and a lot more!
More to that, the Osaka Amazing Pass also includes free rides on the Osaka Metro Subway (Osaka Municipal Subway), trams, and buses (Osaka City Bus) within the city. It also comes with a guidebook and coupons for special offers and discounts in some shops and restaurants.
If you remember my previous posts on Hong Kong-Macau iVenture Card, Taipei Fun Pass, and Discover Seoul Pass, the Osaka Amazing Pass (OAP) basically works similar to them.
With this sightseeing and transit card, you may choose a 1-day pass or a 2-day Osaka Amazing Pass. A 1-day pass costs ₱ 1,392, while the 2-day pass costs ₱ 1,856. You can either pick it up at Kansai International Airport or at Edion Namba in Osaka.
Since we only have one free day in our tight schedule, we bought a 1-day Osaka Amazing Pass via Klook and chose the best attractions we want to visit. With this, let me share to your our planned one-day Osaka itinerary and the cost estimate of the entrance fees and train fares if we don’t have the pass. Please note that this itinerary is based on where we were staying at, which is at Hotel Shin-Imamiya near Shin-Imamiya Station.

TOTAL COST - 6,090 Yen / 2,923 PHP
COST OF OSAKA AMAZING PASS (1 DAY) - 1,392 PHP
TOTAL SAVINGS - 1,531 PHP
Visiting all these attractions, we could have spent PHP 2,923. Since we have an Osaka Amazing Pass which we purchased for PHP 1,392, we don’t have to pay entrance fees and train fares. Using the pass we saved a total of PHP 1,531. That's a lot of savings!
The above Osaka Itinerary using 1-day Osaka Amazing Pass was our planned itinerary. Unfortunately, we were not able to do it. Why? On the day of our supposed tour of Osaka, typhoon Hagibis entered Japan. On that day, most of the tourist spots were closed and the trains reduced their trip schedules. So, without a choice on the current situation, we just decided not to use the pass since we will not be able to maximize it.
