Baguio City's most-anticipated and biggest flower festival, Panagbenga Festival 2020 is happening this February until early March 2020. As the most-attended festival in Northern Luzon, tourists and travelers are expected to flock to Baguio City to witness this annual festival of flowers with exciting and colorful events and activities lined up. The highlights of the Panagbenga 2020 - the grand street dancing and grand float parade will take place on February 29 and March 1, 2020, respectively. Take note of those dates.
Now on its 25th year or silver anniversary, this year's celebration is expected to be one of the grandest. What is Panagbenga Festival?
Panagbenga Festival is to celebrate not only the "season of blooming" of flowers but also the booming economy and progress of the "City of Pines." The word "Panagbenga" comes from a Kankanaey term meaning “season of blooming”. This festival reflects the history, traditions and values of Baguio City and the Cordilleras.

Panagbenga Grand Float Competition
March 1, 2020The major highlight of the Festival, the biggest and grandest of its kind in the country. Flowers and other organic material decked floats are paraded and displayed during this day.

Session Road in Bloom
March 2, 2020 to March 8, 2020A week-long event featuring expositions by the food and other hospitality establishments in the City and in the Country. It is during this event that Session Road is closed to vehicular traffic and Session Road becomes an al-fresco dining spot complemented by open-air concerts and performances.

But due to the festive season, I highly recommend that you plan your trip to Baguio City ahead of time. As early as now, you should book for your accommodation becausee hotels and transient houses in the city are expected to be fully-booked during Panagbenga Festival 2020, especially on the festival weekend or during the street dancing and grand float parade weekend.

Panagbenga 2020 Travel Tips and Reminders
- When traveling to Baguio City wether on private car or by public transport, I recommend that you leave Metro Manila at night to avoid traffic congestion on your way up to Baguio. This will save you a lot on travel time.
- Take advantage of online bus booking system and book your bus tickets in advance to and from Baguio City.
- Book your hotel accommodation as early as possible. Hotels in Baguio get easily fully-booked during Panagbenga Festival.
- Study the parade route and be there early to get a good spot to watch the parade and to take photos.
- Wear warm and comfortable clothes. Baguio weather during February is cold, be sure to bring a jacket.
- Always take care of your belongings and be mindful of the people around you. Baguio is generally safe, but it's always better to be cautious all the time.
- Plan your itinerary and visit other tourist spots and attractions in Baguio City while enjoying the events and activities during Panagbenga Festival.
- Baguio will be very full of tourists during the festival. Wear comfortable shoes and be ready to walk as some roads will be closed to traffic or there will be heavy traffic congestion.
