FUKUOKA TO HIROSHIMA BY BULLET TRAIN
In our case, we went to Hiroshima coming from Fukuoka City.
Upon arrival at the Fukuoka international airport terminal, take the free shuttle bus to the domestic terminal where you will find the subway station. From here, take the subway train to Hakata Station which is the main station in Fukuoka City. Travel time is around 10-15 minutes from the airport to Hakata Station and fare is 260 JPY. Alternatively, you may also take a taxi or a private airport transfer from the airport to Hakata Station if you're traveling with kids, senior citizens and if you have huge luggage with you.
Using our 7-day Whole Japan JR Pass, we took the Shinkansen from Fukuoka’s Hakata Station to Hiroshima Station. Travel time takes about 60 to 70 minutes. That's how easy and convenient to travel from Fukuoka to Hiroshima.

If you're planning a visit to Hiroshima as part of a bigger Japan trip that covers multiple cities and prefectures, I highly recommend that you get a whole Japan JR Pass. It is very useful and an economical way to travel around Japan. With a Whole Japan JR Pass, you can have unlimited train ride on the JR Lines, which also includes the Shinkansen, Limited Express, local trains, Monorail, JR buses, to the Miyajima Ferry. WHICH ONE IS BETTER? BY BUS OR BY TRAIN?
For me, it depends on your preference. If you want to save on time, take the Shinkansen trains. Although it is expensive, it will save you a lot on travel time. And if you have a rail pass, it won't be that expensive if you will be able to maximize the use of the pass.
If you're a budget traveler and don't mind spending hours in a bus, take the bus. This will save you a lot on travel expenses.
Me, I prefer to use train passes as it comes cheap if you plan your trip and your itinerary well.
