For many years, the world famous Boracay Island has been known as a noisy and crowded "party island," but this is far from the case now. After it has been closed for rehabilitation, there are many things that changed in Boracay compared to my last visit. The beach is still as beautiful as it was, but it's a lot cleaner now and more peaceful. I also noticed that businesses are now more environmental conscious and practice sustainability - which in return benefit the whole island.
Despite having been to Boracay many times in the past, it always makes me excited to visit it again. After all, it’s where you can find one of the best beaches, not only in the Philippines but in the whole world. I’ve been to many beaches in the Philippines, and Boracay is still one of the best.
Our recent trip to Boracay is through the invitation of our friends from Azalea Hotels and Residences. Together with other bloggers, we're up for an amazing Boracay familiarization tour to usher in the summer season.
Azalea Hotels and Residences Boracay
Located in Station 2, Azalea Hotels and Residences Boracay (see room rates) is Boracay's first 4-star quality serviced apartment that offers spacious hotel rooms and serviced apartments fully-furnished with separate bedrooms, living area, dining facilities and fully-functional kitchen. Each guestroom is equipped with all the much-needed essentials that will pefectly suit your most-awaited Boracay holiday.
There are many hotels and resorts in Boracay. But what sets Azalea Hotels and Residences apart from the others is that it is conveniently located along the main road, yet it is just a short walk away from the powdery white sand beach. Its prime and strategic location allow guests to access Boracay's best attractions with ease. Guests can easily get transportation to go to other destinations on the island, as well as whenever guests wants to go for shopping or dining. It's also a good jump-off point for visiting and exploring other Boracay attractions and activities.
Upon arrival at the resort, we were hospitably welcomed by the hotel staff, greeted us with warm smiles, and gave us cold towels and welcome drinks. We were then assisted with checking-in. It was fast and efficient; after about 5-10 minutes, we were already inside our room.
Deluxe Room
Our room is a spacious 30 sqm Deluxe Room (see room rates) which every guest will surely like as it exudes a vibrant resort vibe. Showcasing lovely interiors bursting in tropical hues of blue and green, it feels like a condo unit equipped with all the essential amenities and facilities needed for a comfortable and relaxing Boracay holiday.
It has with 2 double beds joined together by a small bed side table with a telephone. The beds are complemented with clean white sheets, fluffy pillows, and soft duvets. I quickly tried the bed, and it’s so comfy!
At one side there's a small living area with nice and comfy sofa and a table where you could dine or a nook to relax while watching TV. This comfy sofa can be converted into a bed that could accommodate an extra person in the room.
With guests’ comfort in mind, the room has a fully-functional kitchen with refrigerator, microwave oven, rice cooker, induction cooker with overhead exhaust, glasswares, cutlery and utensil sets. There's also a mini bar with a personal refrigerator, electric kettle, bottled water and complimentary coffee and tea, that are replenished daily.
This is one of the features I love at Azalea Boracay. Having a kitchen allows guests to prepare and cook their own meals if they want to. Perfect for families, group of friends or for long staying guests.
In addition, the room also features a variety of comforts. Other essential room amenities include Cable/LED TV, in-room safety deposit box, spacious work desk, individually-controlled and silent air conditioning unit, luggage rack, cabinet and a huge vanity mirror. Complimentary WiFi internet access anywhere in the hotel, daily housekeeping, newspaper, and turn-down service are also available.
Toilet and Bath
The en suite toilet and bath is clean, and well-organized. It has a shower enclosure with hot and cold shower feature, a clean water closet with bidet spray, and a sink with a vanity mirror. I like that water pressure is great and there's also a clothes hanging line inside the bathroom where you could hang your wet clothes.
Complete toiletries and bathrooms amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, bath soap, body lotion, vanity and dental care kits were provided. For guests' convenience, hair dryer, soft body and hand towels were also provided. I couldn't ask for more, it's very impressive! For me, it is very important to have a bathroom that is clean and well organized. Azalea Hotels and Residences did not disappoint, from the sink to the water closet, to the shower enclosure, they are all clean and smell fresh.
Good to know that...

Swimming Pool
Located at the roof deck are Azalea Boracay's swimming pools. They have a huge swimming pool for adults as well as kiddie pools. It has lounge chairs scattered around where you could relax or read a book while enjoying the pool. Best of all, the swimming pool also offers amazing overlooking views of Boracay's white beach and surrounding areas. It's also a good place to enjoy the world-famous Boracay sunset.
Food & Beverage Services
Azalea Hotels and Residences' in-house restaurant is located at the hotel's ground floor near the lobby. Kuya J Restaurant is a casual dining restaurant that offers great selection of popular Filipino dishes and comfort food. Of course, I had to try the classic Pinoy favorite halo-halo that is just so perfect to cool down from the summer heat.
Complimentary buffet breakfast that comes with every booking is also served here at Kuya J Restaurant. Room service is also available. If you get hungry and you're too lazy to get out of your room, just give them a call and they will deliver your food to your room.
