How to get to Kaybiang Tunnel in Ternate, Cavite and Nasugbu, Batangas? What are the top things to do in Kaybiang Tunnel?
Kaybiang Tunnel was constructed in 2009 and was officially opened in 2013. It is a road tunnel that runs through Mount Palay-palay National Park or more commonly known as "Mt. Pico de Loro." Located along Nasugbu-Ternate Highway, it connects the municipalities of Ternate in Cavite and Nasugbu in Batangas. This 300-meter tunnel is currently the Philippines’ longest underground highway tunnel.
With its close proximity from Metro Manila, it has become a popular destination among road trippers, bikers, and motorcycle groups for its scenic views and well-paved road.
Because of its popularity, Kaybiang Tunnel gets very crowded with a lot of visitors during weekends. So, it is best if you plan your trip on a weekday to avoid the traffic cogestion in the area that is already a "usual scenario" every weekends. If you’re bringing a car, drive slow and with caution along the winding road leasding to the tunnel and be sure to turn your headlights on when passing through Kaybiang Tunnel because it's dark inside and no light can pass through inside.

Things to do? If you get hungry during the trip, there are many food kiosks and rest stops in the area where you could grab some snacks and take a rest after the long ride. After passing the tunnel, you will also find viewing decks with overlooking views of the beach, some islands, hills and surrounding mountains. There are also some beach resorts offering cottages where you could have lunch while enjoying the cool sea breeze. You may also visit the nearby Riverfront Garden Resort in Maragondon Cavite where you could stay for a night.
