Looking for hotels and resorts near Metro Manila? Let's go to Batangas!
Batangas has always been one of my favorite destinations for a quick trip. Just 2 hours away from Metro Manila or from Cavite where I live, it offers many interesting places to visit that surely makes a memorable trip.
Last week, I went to Villas by Eco Hotel in Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas, which is one of the very few eco-friendly hotels in the Philippines. This lovely resort-hotel offers private villas where you could relax and have a quiet vacation away from the crowd. It is a great choice for people wanting to enjoy a resort near Metro Manila, where one could commune with nature and wake-up with breathtaking views of Taal Lake and its sorrounding mountains.
When I arrived at the hotel, I was warmly welcomed by the hotel staff and assisted me with my booking. They are very courteous, friendly, and accommodating. After filling-out the online health declaration form, I was given my room key and was ushered to my room.
The room is spacious, modern and well-equipped with all the essential amenities needed for a comfortable stay. It has a queen-size bed which I quickly tried. It smells fresh and feels very comfy!
Other room amenities include an en suite toilet and bath with eco-friendly toiletries, airconditioning unit, ceiling fan, coffee maker, a sitting area, television set, mini ref, cabinet, safety deposit box, luggage rack and a work desk.
My visit is not an ideal one because it is raining when I arrived and from time to time it would still rain during the whole afternoon. But I don’t mind it at all. It’s quite a good excuse to just stay inside my room, lay on bed and do nothing but watch tv.
Being very much in the middle of the Olympic fanfare with the games going on, I just spent my time inside my beautiful room and watched the games. It also gave me that much-needed quiet time and rest.
When dinner time came, I checked on the menu inside the room and sent a text message to the front desk to order food. After about 30 minutes, a hotel staff knocked at my door and told me that my food is ready. So, I went to the restaurant and enjoyed my food. I had grilled tuna with fresly-made atchara and a cup of rice. Yummmmm!
The resort’s restaurant, Baluk Baluk Restaurant serves authentic Filipino cuisine with ingredients directly harvested from their Green Farm and Herb Garden. What I love about the restaurant is that aside from its cozy interiors, it also has an outdoor dining area where you could have a stunning panoramic view of Taal Lake, the sorrounding mountains and it also overlooks the swimming pool! How cool is that?
The following morning, I went back to the restaurant to have my complimentary breakfast. There are 3 choice available: Filipino, Continental and American Breakfast. I chose Filipino breakfast and had Marinated Pork Tapa with fried rice and egg, a cup of brewed coffee and some fruits.
Even if Villas by Eco Hotel is small, it offers a wide array of recreational activities and interesting attractions to ensure guests will have plenty of things to do during their stay. You can go for a dip in the swimming pool and simply take in the beautiful view of the lake and the lush surroundings. You may also walk around and explore the Green Farm and Herb Garden. You may also enjoy a relaxing hot bath at their Kawa that is so perfect to end a tiring day; or, take IG-worthy photos at their new attractions such as Kamay sa Ulap, Pugad and Duyan.
Overall, I had a pleasant and relaxing stay at Villas by Eco Hotel in Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas. It’s an ideal place for some quiet time away from the city and is perfect for spending quality time with your family and love ones. So, on your next trip to Batangas, make Villas by Eco Hotel your home away from home! Highly Recommended!
