Known for surfing, amazing beaches and many natural attractions, Siargao is hailed many times as "One of the Best Islands in the World". Currently, Siargao is open for tourists and leisure travelers. As of January 1, 2022, the Island of Siargao and the entire province of Surigao del Norte is under Alert Level 2 quarantine classification until January 15, 2022.
Who are Allowed to Enter Siargao?
- Siargao is open for domestic tourists coming from outside the region (except those coming from areas with travel restrictions).
- Also allowed to travel to Siargao on a point-to-point basis are travelers below 18 years of age; fully vaccinated individuals above 65 yrs of age; fully vaccinated individuals with comorbidities and other health issues; and fully vaccinated pregnant women.
UPDATE: Starting December 10, 2021, negative RT-PCR test result is no longer required for fully-vaccinated individuals traveling to Siargao. You just need to present a COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate issued by the Department of Health or a domestic vaccination card issued by a legitimate vaccinating establishment. This is part of Executive Order 21-043 issued by the Office of the Provincial Governor of Surigao del Norte and shall take effect to all travelers coming to the province.
Siargao Travel Requirements for Tourists Invited by a Local Resident
If a Siargao or Surigao del Norte resident invited you to visit Siargao, the following are the documents you need to travel to Siargao.
- Unvaccinated or partially-vaccinated individuals need to submit a Negative Test Result on Swab/Saliva RT-PCR Test taken within forty-eight (48) hours or two (2) days from the date of release of the result. Individuals who are seventeen (17) years old and below are exempted from presentation of negative result on Swab/Saliva RT-PCR Test. Click here to know where to get Affordable RT-PCR Test.
- Valid Identification Card with address.
- Travel Certification issued by the Mayor of destination stating you're a tourist invited by a local.
- Approved Travel Coordination Permit (TCP) from S-PASS.
- Prior to departure, all travel requirements (scanned or picture copies) shall be emailed in advance by the passengers to the Provincial Tourism Office at sdntourism@gmail.com.

Siargao Travel Requirements for Tourists Not Invited by a Local Resident
For tourists not invited by a local resident (aka Walk-in Tourists), the following are the documents you need to travel to Siargao.
- Unvaccinated or partially-vaccinated individuals need to submit a Negative Test Result on Swab/Saliva RT-PCR Test taken within forty-eight (48) hours or two (2) days from the date of release of the result. - Valid Identification Card with address.
- Confirmed booking accommodation for at least two (2) nights from the resort, hotel, or hostel duly accredited by the Department of Tourism.
- Approved Travel Coordination Permit (TCP) from S-PASS.
- Prior to departure, all travel requirements (scanned or picture copies) shall be emailed in advance by the passengers to the Provincial Tourism Office at sdntourism@gmail.com.
Port Entry Guidelines
- The documentary requirements shall also be presented by the passengers upon arrival. Those who cannot present all of the requirements shall be deported back to the place of origin at the returning flight of the same aircraft on the same day at the cost of the concerned passenger and/or the concerned airline company.
- All arriving passengers shall be transported only by public utility vehicles duly accredited by the task force of the LGU, in case of use of private vehicles, it is needed to obtain clearance from the task force.
NOTES:
- If you will be staying for more than 5 days in Siargao, in addition to the requirements that you have to comply upon entry, you will be subjected to COVID-19 Antigen Test (at your own cost) after five (5) days from the date of arrival. Those who will be tested positive shall be subjected further to Swab or Saliva RT-PCR Test (at your own cost). This provision also applies to those who have been partially or fully vaccinated of COVID-19 vaccines.
- Travel requirements may change from time to time without prior notice. Please coordinate with the local government unit of your destination for the latest updates.
