There are many national holidays in the Philippines and long weekends this 2023! Start planning your trips to make the most of these holidays!
On August 23, 2022, Malacañang Palace released the list of National Regular and Special (non-working) Holidays for 2023 through Proclamation No. 42.
The said proclamation lists 10 regular holidays and 7 special non-working holidays for 2023. Some of these holidays fall on a Monday or Friday which also give the chance for us to enjoy several long weekends in the Philippines. This is indeed good news for Filipino Travelers as it gives us more time to enjoy the holidays with the long weekends that can be spent on a vacation here or abroad.
UPDATE #1: Amending Proclamation No. 42, Proclamation No. 90 declares January 2, 2023 as a special non-working day while April 10 and November 27, 2023 are now considered as regular holidays.
UPDATE #2: February 24, 2023 is a holiday in the Philippines. Proclamation No. 167, Malacañang Palace moved the February 25, 2023 holiday to February 24, 2023, pursuant to the principle of holiday economics.

UPDATE #4: Is June 29, 2023 a holiday in observance of Eid al-Adha? As of this writing, Malacañang Palace has not declared June 29 a holiday. But I am expecting that they will declare it a national holiday and move it to June 30, 2023 holiday so that we could enjoy a 3-days long weekend from Friday (June 30) to Sunday (July 2).
UPDATE #5: June 28, 2023 is a regular holiday in the Philippines, in observance of Eid’l Adha (Feast of Sacrifice). Malacañang Palace declared Wednesday, June 28, 2023 as a regular holiday throughout the country via Proclamation No. 258.
UPDATE #6: October 30, 2023 was declared as a "Special Non-Working Holiday" all over the Philippines to give way for Filipinos to vote for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections.
UPDATE #7: Is October 31, 2023 a holiday in the Philippines? As of this writing, Malacañang Palace has not declared October 31 a holiday. But we coould hope that it will be declared as a holiday as it was declared as a special non-working holiday last year.
UPDATE #8: December 26, 2023 is a holiday. Malacañang Palace has declared December 26, 2023 as a "special non-working day" to give the Filipino people more time to celebrate the Christmas season with their families and loved ones.
