2024 Regular, Special Non-Working Holidays, and Long Weekend Holidays in the Philippines

There are several national holidays in the Philippines and long weekends this 2024! Start planning your trips to make the most of these holidays and long weekends!


Malacañang Palace had released the list of National Regular and Special (non-working) Holidays in the Philippines for 2024 through Proclamation No. 368 which was signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The proclamation lists 10 regular holidays and 8 special non-working holidays for 2024. A few of these holidays fall on a Monday or a Friday which also give the chance for us to enjoy several long weekends in the Philippines.

UPDATE #1: Malacañang Palace, through Proclamation No. 453 declares February 9, 2024 as a special non-working day throughout the country for the celebration of Chinese New Year. It was originally declared as February 10 (Saturday), but the non-working holiday was moved to February 9 which falls on a Friday and gives us additional long weekend this 2024.

UPDATE #2: Malacañang Palace has declared Wednesday, April 10, 2024, a regular holiday across the country in observance of Eid'l Fitr or the Feast of Ramadhan.

UPDATE #3: Malacañang Palace, through Proclamation No. 579 declares Monday, June 17, 2024, a regular holiday in the Philippines in observance of Eid’l Adha (Feast of Sacrifice).

UPDATE #4: Malacañang Palace moved the August 21, 2024 (Wednesday) Special Non-working Holiday to August 23, 2024 (Friday) in celebration of Ninoy Aquino Day. This means, we could enjoy a 4-day long weekend from August 23-26, 2024 (Friday-Monday).

  • All Saints’ Day – November 1 (Friday)
  • Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary – December 8 (Sunday)
  • Last day of the year – December 31 (Tuesday)

Additional special non-working days in the Philippines for 2024


  • Chinese New Year – February 10 (Saturday) - moved to February 9 (Friday)
  • Black Saturday – March 30 (Saturday)
  • All Souls’ Day – November 2 (Saturday)
  • Christmas Eve – December 24 (Tuesday)

NOTE: The EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary commemorated in the country on February 25 every year was not among the holidays listed under Proclamation No. 368. In previous years, it was declared as "Special Non-working Day".

Additional Holidays in the Philippines for 2024


Meanwhile, the proclamations declaring national holidays for the observance of the Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha will be issued after the approximate dates of the Islamic holidays have been determined, in the accordance with the Islamic calendar (Hijra) or the lunar calendar, or upon Islamic astronomical calculations, whichever is possible or convenient. The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos will recommend the actual dates on which these holidays shall respectively fall. The President will issue separate proclamations declaring national holidays for the observance of these holidays.

Estimated dates of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha 2024

  • April 10 (Wednesay) - Eid al-Fitr or the end of the month of Ramadan
  • June 17 (Monday) - Eid al-Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice

NOTES:
  • Proclamation No. 514 declares April 10, 2024 as a regular holiday in the Philippines to allow every Filipino to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in observing and celebrating the Feast of Ramadan.
  • Proclamation No. 579: Declaring Monday, June 17, 2024, a regular holiday throughout the country, in observance of Eid’l Adha (Feast of Sacrifice).

List of Long Weekend Holidays in 2024


As of August 2024, Filipinos can enjoy up to 7 long weekends. Below is the list of long weekends in the Philippines this 2024.

  • December 30-January 1 (Saturday to Monday) - New Year
  • February 9-11 (Friday to Saturday) - Chinese New Year
  • March 28 - 31 (Thursday to Sunday) - Holy Week
  • June 15-17 (Saturday to Monday) - Eid al-Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice
  • August 23-26 (Friday to Monday) - Ninoy Aquino Day and National Heroes Day
  • December 28-31 (Saturday to Tuesday) - Rizal Day
  • November 1-3 (Friday to Sunday) - All Saints/Souls Day
  • If you take a leave from work on April 8, 2024 (Monday), you could enjoy an additional long weekend from April 6 to 9 (Saturday to Tuesday) - Araw ng Kagitingan.
  • We will have additional long weekend if Eid al-Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice holiday will fall on June 17 (Monday).
